About the Northern Rivers Rail Trail

The Northern Rivers Rail Trail runs 24 km one-way from Murwillumbah through the Tweed Hinterland. It follows a former railway line, making it flat, sealed, car-free and safe for all riders.

We offer fat-tyre cruiser e-bikes ($100 4 hour Hire or $125 5 to 8 hour hire) and hybrid push bikes ($40 4 hour Hire or $55 5 to 8 hour hire). Both come with a helmet, lock and light for the tunnel. We also have kids bikes from $40, Baby seats $35 and Family Cargo E-bikes from $135. You can also upgrade to our E-Bike & Picnic Experiencewhich adds a grazing box and full picnic setup.

No. The e-bikes have five levels of pedal assist and the Northern Rivers Rail Trail is flat and sealed — it follows a former railway line with very gentle gradients. Riders of all ages and fitness levels enjoy it.

Most riders spend 4 to 6 hours on the trail including stops. The full trail is 24 km one-way (48 km return) from Murwillumbah to Crabbs Creek, but you can ride as far as you like and turn around whenever you choose.

Yes. As long as you can ride a push bike. Our e-bikes have step-through frames, wide handlebars and hydraulic disc brakes — they're very stable and easy to ride. We give you a full rundown before you head out and most first-time riders are confident within a few minutes.

At our base at 8 Railway Street, South Murwillumbah — right at the start of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Free parking is available on-site and nearby. You ride out and return to the same spot.

E-bikes have a battery-powered motor that assists as you pedal, making the ride effortless — especially useful on the slight inclines and longer distances. Push bikes are a more active option and better suited to confident cyclists or shorter rides. Most riders prefer e-bikes for comfort and range.
